WebPilot Privacy Policy

Effective: September 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information WebPilot processes when you use the website, customer portal, PathPilot integration, telemetry, remote-desktop relay, updates, trial, and related hosted services.

1. Information you provide

WebPilot may collect information you provide when creating or managing an account, including your name or company name, email address, customer URL name, account password, machine label, VNC password, support correspondence, and billing or subscription information provided during account administration.

WebPilot account passwords are stored as password hashes rather than recoverable plaintext. The VNC password is a separate machine-access credential and may be retained as machine configuration so WebPilot can generate the controller package and support remote desktop access. Do not reuse an important personal password as your VNC password.

2. Controller and machine information

When a PathPilot controller connects, WebPilot may process machine and installation identifiers, a hardware-derived Controller ID used for device binding and trial eligibility, software and PathPilot versions, update configuration, hostname or installation information, connection status, timestamps, and other technical details needed to authenticate and operate the controller connection.

3. Telemetry and remote-desktop traffic

WebPilot processes machine telemetry that may include program or cycle state, tool and spindle information, axis positions, current NC-line information, job progress, and related PathPilot state made available by the installed integration.

When you use the remote PathPilot desktop, the Service relays VNC/remote-desktop data between the controller and your browser. That traffic necessarily passes through WebPilot relay infrastructure while the session is active. Normal operation is designed to relay the session rather than create a recording of the screen contents. Operational logs may record connection metadata, timing, bytes transferred, errors, and similar diagnostic information.

4. Website and security information

WebPilot may process IP addresses, browser/user-agent information, cookies or session identifiers, login attempts, password-reset and email-verification activity, request timestamps, security events, and server/application logs. This information is used to authenticate users, maintain sessions, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and protect the Service.

5. How information is used

Information is used to provide and secure the Service; authenticate accounts and controllers; bind controllers to accounts; operate telemetry and remote access; administer trials and subscriptions; send verification, password-reset, service, and support emails; provide software updates; troubleshoot problems; prevent abuse; maintain backups; and improve reliability and compatibility.

6. Cookies

WebPilot uses cookies or similar browser session tokens for customer and administrator authentication. Authentication cookies are intended to be used for sign-in and security rather than advertising. Disabling required cookies may prevent customer or administrator sessions from working.

7. Sharing and service providers

WebPilot does not sell customer personal information to advertisers. Information may be processed by infrastructure or service providers used to operate WebPilot, such as web hosting, network, backup, and email providers, only as needed to provide those functions. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or to protect the rights and safety of WebPilot, customers, or others.

8. Retention

Account and machine records are generally retained while needed to operate or support the account. Security, diagnostic, mail, trial, and connection logs may be retained for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. Backup copies can persist after live records are changed or deleted and are removed as backup sets age out or are replaced. Hardware trial records may be retained longer to enforce one-trial-per-controller rules and prevent repeated trial abuse.

9. Security

WebPilot uses measures intended to protect customer information, including HTTPS/WSS encryption in transit, authenticated controller connections, hardware binding, protected server-side configuration, hashed account passwords and reset/verification tokens, and restricted administrative access. No Internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so customers should use unique credentials and protect their email and local controller access.

10. Your choices and requests

You can update or correct many account details by contacting WebPilot support. You may also ask about deletion or closure of your account, subject to records WebPilot needs to retain for security, fraud/trial prevention, billing, legal, backup, or legitimate operational purposes. To make a privacy or account request, use the contact form from the address associated with the account.

11. Children

WebPilot is a machine-control and shop-oriented service and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13 or submit a child's personal information through the Service.

12. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as WebPilot changes. The current version will be posted at this URL with an effective date. Material changes will be communicated when practical.

13. Contact

Privacy questions or requests can be sent through the contact form.
